Alerting the officials

If you have a complaint regarding food or a food premises, you should contact the environmental Health Officer (EHO) in your local health board as soon as possible. If you have a complaint regarding food borne illness, you should contact your Doctor.

Normally an official of the Health Board will arrange to meet you in order to complete an official complaint form. If you submit a food complaint, the food item may be sent to a laboratory for analysis and you will be contacted with the result. Alternative, you can have suspect food analysed independently for a fee by contacting the Public Analyst Laboratory in your region. Having exhausted all other complaint procedures you should seek legal advice.
